Link with Family Mediation

Recently our Chair, Pat McGreevy met with Joan Davis Chief Executive of Family Mediation. The aim of the meeting was to explore ways the two charities could work closer together. Three times as many men as women die by suicide here and in many other places. One of the key factors known to contribute to suicide deaths is relationship difficulties/breakdowns. Very often there is conflict about access to children and the concept of parental alienation can be present. The uptake of mediation in these situations is low and the hope arising out of the meeting is that more can be done between us to highlight the mediation approach which may include a  specific awareness event and ongoing  joint campaign.
